disk management

I need to install an OS on unpartitioned space by sending over system files after mounting the partition.

The problem is, I can't mount it because I can't see it. No integrated device or disk managers will find my unpartitioned space.

What can I do? i'm using FC2...

You have to partition the space before you can mount it, to put information on it

There is fdisk, just type fdisk at a terminal. There is also gui disk manager I believe.

Apparently I don't have fdisk, (or cfdisk) and the disk manager with the interface doesn't see my free space.

as root open a terminal and use fdisk, if your distro doesnt have it I dont know what to tell you
