Item of note #1: NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER use Ndiswrapper unless a) no Linux driver exists for your card or b) it's so unstable that the developers tell you it's not yet ready for use.
This is not the case with the 2200BG. Intel provides a very nice, very stable driver that is relatively easy to install either by recompiling the kernel or doing apt-get install ipw2200-source and then going through the paces of m-a.
(Note that you have to have etch or sid for apt-get install ipw2200-source to work.)
