I have tried many versions of linux but of all of them I like suse.

This is probably way over your head, but its worth a look. I've got my system BLFS and its faster plus you get the most recent versions of the programs.

I'm a newbie to linux too and I found Suse to be really easy to work with and setup...In my (very limited) experience Mandrake was nice as well. Cheers!

suse imo is the easiest to use and install. something you may want to try out before installing is knoppix. no need to install or partition anything, just boot off the cd when rebooting and you're in linux

when i get my new computer, im gonna get a 20gb or something small, and install Linux on it, i dont really like windows, i use it because of its compatability, because i can play games etc. i like the idea of linux and i hope that one day it will have more supporters than windows, that would be cool

can anyone tell me the best linux to either d/l for free or buy. I want a good one thats decent for gaming and that i can hack on. i heard linux is basically virus-proof and much better than windows. THANK Us

the best yet I'd have to say is Fedora Core 3!!!
