best linux

can anyone tell me the best linux to either d/l for free or buy. I want a good one thats decent for gaming and that i can hack on. i heard linux is basically virus-proof and much better than windows. THANK Us

Yeah.Linux is basically virus-proof. I had good experiences with SuSE Linux, but Linux isn't very good for gaming. There are not many games for Linux.

yea 4get gaming on linux, im gonna have both OS on my comp, one on each drive probably, i have to 80 gig HD, or should i just partition one HD. whats better??

If your new.

If your new to linux you might want to try Mandrake from my point of view it a lot easier to use. If you used to windows you might want to ty debian but that wouldn't be my choice.

FYI- There called Distros As in Distrobutions

I start from RedHat9, haven't tried Mandrake, it sounds good

I'm going to upgrade to FC2, if you're a newbie , i recommend you to try Mandrake or suse.
