I used Control Center, Internet & Network, Samba, Users. The apply button is greyed out.

I've also used Yast, Security & Users, User & Group Administration.

I can't log it with the XP client machine; it says display the red X pop up saying I don't have permission.

Are you using a Samba GUI tool or are you working with your smb.conf file?

Regardless, please show us your /etc/samba/smb.conf file.

Yes I'm using a Samba GUI tool. Isn't Yast a GUI tool for it? *no sarcasm*

# smb.conf is the main Samba configuration file. You find a full commented
# version at /usr/share/doc/packages/samba/examples/smb.conf.SUSE if the
# samba-doc package is installed.
