I have recently installed a distro of Ubuntu, and I am wondering how I set up my NetZero internet for it?

Also, I'm looking for another distro, something for performance mainly, any suggestions? I hear Gentoo would be a good choice?

Just plug your computer into the router and you're good to go.

I'd just stick with Ubuntu unless you have a really slow computer, in which case Gentoo wouldnt be much faster, you'd have to go with Feather Linux or something.

Netzero is dial-up. If you have a USB modem or PCI modem, chances are it won't work, unless you get that crappy Linuxant driver that's capped at 14.4 kbps.

My suggestion is find a serial modem (unless you're certain what you have is NOT a Winmodem) and use that.

Alright, thank you both, I'll just stick with Ubuntu until I can get Feather, to try it out. I doubt I'll be using Linux to surf the web until I can get access to DSL around here. Thanks for the help.

Kubuntu

Uses KDE desktop, one CD install works both as a live and Install CD. Be wary it is a bit bloated.

Mandriva

This is what PCLinuxOS is based on it is a BIG distrobution with all you will ever need

PCLinuxOS .92

This is the distro I use and recommend, Why because it works right out of the box. No need to configure Everything, everything just works. It also comes as a 1 CD install that is a live CD that you can install later if you wish.
