The "Early Experts" Challenge provides a FREE online study group with certification exam preparation materials for quickly mastering Windows Server 2012, Windows Azure, System Center 2012 SP1 and Private Cloud in a very "hands-on" manner! The Challenge involves a series of Knowledge Quests - starting with the Apprentice Quest below - and each Quest ends with a special completion certificate for you to promote your new knowledge! To make it easy to participate, each Quest is developed in a modular format that you can complete based on your own schedule and availability.

i kinda want to try power shell first. I found a link to a free class on it.

Also, i want to study managment practices to see if i can impact our department / company. This was suggested by my boss.

Beyond that, or conjunction with, i'd shoot for the MCSA.

ITIL is for the most part universally accepted as 'best practices'. Kind of how stuff should be run from the ground up to the top.

Ya powershell is really good as well, most MS products support powershell is if you know how to use it you can automate a lot of tasks and do a lot of fun stuff.
