I think what i want be is a system engineer. What certs will benefit me the most? I am studing my linux+ right now. Novell is getting into the linux thing and my company is a novell shop. They do run alot of windows stuff also but mainly novell. Would a CNE from novell be beneficial or would it be to much trouble. It seems that most everybody uses windows around here unless they have volume like my company. Is novell still one of the best companyies out there. if they are that would be two bird with one stone.

i don't really see many jobs requiring a CNE cert. Novell was taking a major dive after Windows NT burst onto the scene but now that they acquired SuSe who knows where they'll go.

i know quite a few employers that require a MCSE. You can prolly get it in a year or less for about 8 grand; this is based upon a real certification training school and not the bootcamps.

Otherwise, since you have a job in the field, i'd say go for a degree in CS or comp engineering
