Ive heard of a "Virtual PC" program that would allow me to run windows 2k3 server or any operating system!?!?!

is this true?
do I need the actual software to run a certain OS???

I need to practice and work on win 2k3 for my certs

can anyone help?

Go take a look at VMware, there's a free version. I use VMware to run and practice Windows Server on my desktop (2000/2003 Server, Exchange 2003, XP Pro, 2000 Pro) Get a good decent computer with at least 2 Gigs of RAM if you want to run a full network of services to practice on. Or unless you want to run just that one OS, 512MB is fine.

Microsoft has a virtual hard drive and machine you can download for it here:
Download details: Windows Server 2003 R2 VHD

If you use VMWare, you'll have to buy a copy of Windows Server 2003 to install over it. Microsoft gives you a Windows 2003 Server hard drive image for free, but it has a time limitation on how long it can run.
