Looking for a list of books

I'm looking mainly to self-study my way up to a MS in Software Engineer majoring in either AI or VR programming. I'm just starting out and know I'm a LONG ways off. My passion is learning and I tend to pick up things pretty quickly once I get started. Also I tend to read A LOT! Currently I'm reading a lot of fiction but am looking to change it. Grew up loving math and challenging my brain. Also half my family has knowledge in programming. So I have a few OLD programming books, copyright 1999 and before.

I've tried to get help learning programming from family but they WON'T teach anyone. So, I'm on my own and starting from basic algebra that I learned in high school.

Python programming is a great place to start. The following book is a college text that is used as an introduction to computer science.

Pick up a copy and start learning. It should keep you busy for awhile.
