Looking to get into networking

I'm kind of a jack of all trades at my current employer. It's a small company and I help to maintain the server and network with the help of a consulting company. I would like to go to school for networking. I have heard a lot about the Cisco Academy. I'm not sure if I should do that or do the traditional 4 year degree. The goal is to leave my current employer and be a full time network admin. Is the academy a good idea?
