Right. I suppose that I should rephrase what I typed. It sounds too general. I was referring to the industry of IT ... as broad as it is. If you present yourself well, expose yourself as being well educated, communicate with people well and have an outstanding knowledge about the industry and key points/responsibilities that the position holds ... then I wouldn't see why someone wouldn't consider you within a pool of others that hold 1 or 2 certifications and very little industry experience.
Certainly though, If a MD is about to recommend that you be setup for surgery ... I would hope that he or she would hold a doctorate in medicine rather than simply telling you that he or she just has the "work experience".
