Hey all! I'm currently looking (i should say desperatly looking) for a summer job. I'm out on LI and it's hard as hell to find a decent job out here. I'm trying to get a tech support or pc related job but it's just not working. I looked around for anything else i could find too and nothing seems to be working. I applied everywhere with no takers. I do have exp but only 1yr worth. Any ideas would be really helpful. thanks-

If you have software development skills, you should probably compete at www.topcoder.com. They have a competition arena and you can get valuable contacts with companies that are hiring. TopCoder is emerging as the new way to do things.

They even pay money for events.

the best way for me is from friends,known persons.. but for a quick answer ... websites are almost good for these situations

Certifications will help you get your foot in the door, then get experience. Start with the A+ and possibly network+ and get the experience and the goods and you'll move along!
