Default How to arrange my portfolio for a mature aged job seeker

Last time I was looking for a job, i was 22 and my school and collage days where still rescent. Back then, my Collage qualifications where still a big deal for me landing a job.
My portfolio is currently arranged where is
- Resume
- Collage Qualifcation
- Collage Certificates
- School Qualifications
- School Certificates
- Certificates for community activities (Eg. I was a scout leader for 2 years a few years back)
- Reference letters going in order of newest to oldest from employers

10 years later, I am now job hunting again. I have not had any formal training.High school is a distant memory for me. Collage skills are still being used day in day out. However I have had various on the job training which where more specialised for products. There is no ceritifcate with them, however I do have these skills listed in my resume.

The other thing is that in this stage my career, people are more interested in what I have been doing in my past few years. Since my school and collages days are 10 - 15 year old news, I am just wondering if it would be better for me to re-arrange my portfolio like this

- Resume
- Reference letters going in order of newest to oldest from employers
- Collage Qualifcation
- Collage Certificates
- Certificates for community activities (Eg. I was a scout leader for 2 years a few years back)
- School Qualifications
- School Certificates

Also, should i start removing some of the really old stuff.
Currently i have my year 10 marks in there from my School Certificate. Sure I will keep my Year 10 School Certificate and Year 12 High School Certifcate. However consider that I was one of those high school student that just got by, I really don't think i want to my advertising my Grade C in 2 Unit Year 12 English and that I did Maths In Society.

Should I arrange my portfolio to I put my more rescent achievements up front first, even though they are not educational?

Spelling is absolutely a priority. It's "college" not "collage". I read lots of your posts and you mispell or misword a bit...I'm not trying to take a shot at you or anything, just trying to help...small things like grammar can have an effect on how people will think of you. First thing they are going to make an assumption about you is after they finish reading what you typed up in your resume..

edit: I think it's a good idea to make sure they know what certificates you have, but you probably don't need to present your high school diploma paper.

Quite right, I'm no expert but I wouldn't expect to find much about school on the professional resume of a 30+ y/o. You should focus more on accomplishments while you've been working, especially if they are relevant to the type of jobs you are applying for.

EDIT: ninja'd. This post was in response to the OP.

Yha same as above, but I do not give me refences letters etc with my resume.

Have them, but not with the rest, but make sure they know you do have them.

With the grade 12... If you got into College, you obviously got out of high school. I'd ditch the school stuff altogether infact.

I'm not sure what you mean by College Qualifications and Acheivments. Did you finish a college coarse/diploma?

Sorry, not up on my Australian schooling.
