Hey everyone,

I recently developed an interest in being a buiness analyst or EDI specialist and I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this newbie on things to learn and skills to have. Actually, any kind of informaiton relating to getting IT experience is welcomed. Thanks all!

Do what you like / love to do. If you enjoy programming do that, hardware do that, planning do that, etc. You cannot go wrong if you follow and pursue what you enjoy doing.

Maybe start off by describing what you would like to do - not from a job title perspective but from a day-to-day perspective. A Business Analyst at my work does something completely different then one at another company.

Yup,
My wife is a "Business Analyst" however it's not what a typical BA does.
She is does more technical work like software testing (manual/automated) on both hardware and software.
She does requirements gathering, functional specifications. It's very tedious work, you have to be very good at documentation.
Normally BA jobs are more involved with the business with implementations to improve the business.
