Different IT Jobs

Is there any different IT-based jobs less demanding of certifications?

Not being the macho IT Specialist at a business/college, but more of working on the store floor, suggesting hardware to people as at Best Buy.

Is there something as that or similar? If so, what more than experience do you need for the job?

Help Desk imo would be the least demanding.
Certification is only an "asset" and "not required" I tend to see on job postings.
You have to sell yourself pretty good though during the interview if you don't have certs.

From what I can see, it depends from business to business. Some ask for a bachelor's degree, A+/MCD or a High School Diploma/GED.
