i've heard goo things about the author micheal myers. also the publication year is 2010 which means its the latest and greatest. I'd say its a good buy.

yeah, i'd shoot for the newest mike meyers book. i literally read his older a+ book from start to finish, took the a+ exam and scored nearly perfect. he's a good writer, easy to read.

Agreed, Mike Meyers all the way. I did the same thing, was able to easily read the material and pass without issue.

I have heard from others though that if you don't have the foundation of knowing something about computers he can be a difficult read because he assumes you know alot about the jargon of the industry. He also jumps around a lot.

he definitely jumps around alot. you'll see a lot of "for now, just understand that _____ means _____. we'll cover the rest later, in chapter _____."

Yup, i think it goes with his 'squarely' personality. I don't think he can focus on one thing at a time, so he jumps around a lot.
