about A+ certification

is it true that i can just buy a book for A+ certification and study it then get the certificate without going to school? is online test really works for A+ certification?
because i've been reading this A+ certification book by mike meyers and keep study it for almost 2 months. to get ready for school. can i really get the certification online?

You can't get the certification online, but you can sign up for the exam and take it yourself at a local Prometric provider.

School IS NOT required to take ANY certification exam. You just can purchase a book, sign up for the exam at prometrics website and go take the exam.
