Default Looking for a cheap IDE laptop hard drive

My sister-in-law has an old Toshiba Tecra 8200 that has a dead hard drive. It's not much of a laptop, but the rest of it still works good enough for her four year old.

I can find an 80GB drive for $40, but I figured I would see if anyone has a cheaper drive available. Size is not real important as it had a 20GB drive in it originally, so anything bigger would work.

Post up what you have here, or shoot me a PM.

I have a 40GB Hitachi 2.5" IDE drive. Came out of a work laptop. The model it came out of is going obsolete here, but I will just have to check first to make sure I can take them (will be getting tossed/recycled soon anyways, so should be no problem).

I'll ship it to you for $10 + shipping costs since I really don't need it. I'll have to format the drive and do a DBAN on it first for security reasons

Let me know!

I'll let her know about it. How much do you figure shipping would be? I can do the format and nuke if you want. Gonna have to format it, anyway.

Hmmm... PM me the shipping location or zip code and city/state. Its a small little guy so I'd guess $5-7 would be plenty for shipping costs.

OK. I'll tell her $20, then. I will let you know what she says.

If money is an issue, I'll get it to ya for just the cost of shipping. After all it's just an hold hard drive I don't need and never cost me anything personally since it is through a recycled work laptop.

It ain't for me, so don't worry about that. $20 and free labor is a good deal for my sister-in-law. I should get to talk to her sometime tomorrow.
