:DHi:D
I'm new to Tech Forums
I have a question about Windows File Protection
I really don't want to use patches or hacks no matter how safe they are supposed to be
I was wondering if their was a way to tell Windows File Protection that a 3rd party vissual style file was safe
I really want to use this file
To see the vissual style file, go to XP Themes - Windows 7 Minimal by vher528 - Customize.org
I don't want to use uxtheme multipatcher or any other patches or hacks
I have a friend that was able to modify the windows file protection settings without hacking the registry or patching a folder
This person found out how from a Microsoft site, but I had no luck finding it
I really don't want to turn off Windows File Protection
Dont' respond unless you have a solution to my problem
Please help!!!:confused::confused::confused:

You have to replace your uxtheme.dll with a different one to be able to do it. The patchers do this for you. If you are dead set on doing it yourself, go here:
Windows XP SP3 Patched UxTheme.dll [6.0.2900.5512] - WinMatrix

I call BS on someone getting this from MS's site. MS offers a few additional "authentic" themes, but not a uxtheme.dll replacement (that I am aware of).

If you want themes without changing anything in your Windows, try WindowBlinds. It has a free version. I used WB for years on XP.

Hey, welcome to the forums.

I'm glad to see our Trotter found his way in this thread to help you out.

I hope you'll have nice times here.
