Hello everyone. I have been searching for a good tech forum, hopefully this is the place. The others I have frequented just aren't doing it for me anymore.

My name is Josh. I love computers and all other tech. My main battle station is a HP Z800 workstation with two Xeon X5672 Quad core cpus that are clocked at 3.2GHz and turbo to 3.6GHz. They are hyperthreaded and have 12MB of cache. I also bought the HP water cooling for it witch will be installed very soon. If you want to know any more about those here is a link to intels ARK page on them.

I installed 12 x 4GB DDR3 ECC Registered Samsung memory modules for a total of 48GB so thats nice.

I hope to upgrade my GPU soon but my Geforce GTX970 reference card is working fine for now. It gets the job done on every game I have tried at 1080p.

I have a LSI SAS 9212-4i4e raid card for my boot drive and my raid storage because the Z800 was still only using SATA II and we can't be having all that junk. I am booting off a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD and I have a 2TB WD Enterprise drive that came with the Z800 that I use for main storage. Then I have two 4TB Seagate HDD in Raid 0 that are synced with the four 2TB Western Digital Green HDDs in my HTPC that are in Raid 0 also. I know its not an Ideal storage solution but its what I got.

That looks like quite a rig! I've been meaning to get to building one, but it keeps slipping further down my list as life's priorities demand attention. I'm hoping to have one going in the next year or so. Anyways, welcome to the Forums!

Always nice to see more avid builders and high-tech users joining! Welcome to the community, Josh!

Hi Josh and welcome. That looks like quite the build there! Amazing. Glad to have you and I think you have found just what you are looking for, there are a lot of amazing people here that are always willing to help and learn.

I can't wait to get the HP water cooling kit installed. The Z800 is already pretty quite but it is supposed to make it practically inaudible.

I am hoping I have time to do a detailed video on installing for my youtube channel since there are no decent videos about it on youtube. The only videos I found where either bad quality or just a short video about the water cooling kit itself, not installing it into the machine.
