Default **waves

Found this just searching for computer forums. I know quite a bit about Windows, and I'm a fan (though not a user) of both Mac and Linux. I will help where I can but I often have questions of my own.

My username is a reference to the 1998 album by Finnish band Nightwish.

See ya around.

@Intercode - Oh, but I have. I had a pre-PowerPC Performa for a year or so, but couldn't get much use out of it. I also had a G4 tower for a couple days, but that's a long story. It ended up getting traded for a PC. Long story. On the Linux side, I have Linspire 4.5 and Red Hat 9 on CDs. Neither support my external Firewire hard drive, and Red Hat doesn't support my sound card. Digital video quality is questionable in both. Linspire has a good thing going with the Click-N-Run service, hopefully others will follow that path.

@TheMajor - Thanks, and nice avatar.

My computer:

AMD Athlon64 3200+ S939
1024MB Dual Channel DDR400 Corsair XMS with LED activity indicators
256MB GeForce 6600 PCI-E by Chaintech
Aspire X-Navigator case with 500W PSU, 6x80mm fans, 1x120mm fan
Gigabyte nForce4/PCI-E S939 mobo
16X DVD±R Dual Layer burner
Memory card read/writer
...and a Led Zeppelin sticker!
