Hello,

Semi-retired Civil/Environmental Engineer here....

Just built my first computer after a lot of online educational research. Ordered the parts, put it together, loaded the OS and by golly it worked right out of the stall. It's an Intel Quad Core 9550, ASUS Rampage Formula, 4 GB ram, WD 10K 300 GB, 2- 640 GB WD 7200 rpm HD's, a decent vid card all loaded in an ANTEC 1200 with 7 fans.....and no I don't play games :) altho I might eventually get around to a FPS....any recomendations? no STEAM please :).

My main hobbies are playing guitar and digital audio recording. Thought I'd branch out broaden my horizons before I go totally deaf and learn about PC's. I love to tinker in the electrical domain ie mod electric guitars and make minor repairs to electronic equipment. I can see this computer building, modding and upgrading thing can become very addictive :) and expensive.

Cheers!

PC's are a great hobby. So many things go wrong with them all the time you never run out of things to do ;).
