Microphone and heaphones

Hi Guys,

I'm having a problem with my new laptop. It's more of a tablet than a laptop, but it features a combined audio and microphone socket. I however do have a pair of apple earphones that allow me to use my mic and audio, but i really want to use an over ear headphones that have a better audio quality but do not have an inbuilt mic. I was wondering (i have had a look for it myself), if there is something that i can do that would allow be to use my headphones and the inbuilt mic on the tablet.

I do have one of those, but all of the ones that i could find would not allow a mic to be used with it. I was more looking for a program that would allow me to use my computer mic and my headphones.

That splitter will allow you to use a mic/headphones separately. Note that it has 3 bands on the plug, and then splits to mic/headphones jacks.
