Default hello everyone!

so i basically joined this forum to get help learning about the hardware aspect of computers, specifically gaming laptops. I am planning on buying a new gaming laptop sometime in the next year and i need some help with the general knowledge about processors, kinds of ram and videocards.

right now i have a:
hp hdx 16 with vista home premium
nvidia 9600M GT (i think this is a fairly decent card for the money)
Intel core 2 duo t6400 2.00GHz (i am pretty sure 2 ghz is way low)
4 GB ram (not sure what kind)

i don't want to spend much over 2000 on my new computer...i was thinking of going with alienware...but im not sure.

Hey there, and welcome to the forums!
If you need help on building a new system, please post in the Building, Buying or Upgrading thread. It's at the top of the main page
