I'm very interested in progressing into the IT field and I'm looking for a little direction as to where to go. I was originally into telecommunications in the USAF, then I got an A+ certification through the military, now I'm interested in progressing into the IT field.

Is there a hierarchy of certifications I should earn? I've had experience in computer repair and I've worked on help desks generating ticket, but I'm interested in making more money and progressing in the field. Any advice or perspectives from others in the field would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
