The Registry key for Windows XP SP3 Release Candidate 2 is now officially available at the main Microsoft website and can be downloaded by every user. Microsoft previously made this release only available to beta testers who had to add a key to their Registry to make the download appear in Windows Update.
This time everyone may download this Registry key to be able to download the second release candidate of Windows XP Service Pack 3. Service Pack 2 must be installed before users will be able to download Service Pack 3 via Windows Update.
A word of advise. This is still a release candidate and not the real Service Pack 3 which will be released later this year. You should also note that you need to uninstall previous betas or release candidates of Service Pack 3 before you can install the release candidate 2.
