What to do when you can't install Adobe Reader on Windows Vista

I first thought that this problem was only associated with my computer, but I soon read more and more about this error occurring so I just had to make a post about it. The problem can be hard to spot but easy to fix. You may hear about other methods of fixing this problem, but none of those have worked for me except for this one.




To be able to view PDF files, you have two options:
a) Download foxit PDF reader, a popular alternative to Adobe Reader (recommended by Karystos)
b) Enable UAC and install Adobe Reader
If you are wondering whether I recommend Foxit Reader, I do not read PDF files enough to tell you that unfortunately. However, our loyal reader Stephen tells us that Foxit Reader is not a complete solution to Adobe Reader, and is only somewhat of an alternative.

1) Click on the Start Pearl, and type msconfig in the Search bar
2) Click on the Tools tab, then scroll down and click on Enable UAC.

3) Reboot your computer.
