Notepad++
You can download it and use it as just another text editor or follow the instructions below to make it your default text editor
1. Go to C:\Windows and backup notepad.exe and copy to another location
2. Download Notepad++ v5.0 setup and install
3. Download Notepad++ launcher and extract
4. Copy notepad.exe which comes with this package into 4 directories (in given order) :
a. c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386
b. c:\windows\system32\dllcache
c. c:\windows\system32
d. c:\windows
This method will make Notpad++ your default notepad.
You may or may not receive the WFP Windows File Protection error messages depending if you have it disabled or not. If you get the error message, click ok.
