By default, Windows automatically creates various shortcuts to the user's My Documents folder. These are in Windows Explorer, on the Desktop and within the standard Open / Save dialogue boxes. Under certain circumstances, you may wish to remove these.
To show links to the My Documents folder:
Use a registry editing tool to navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\NonEnum
Change or add the following value:
Data TypeWORD
Value Name:{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}
Value:1
Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
