Manually change your boot screen
Make a backup of your ntoskrnl.exe file. On most systems this will be in C:\WINDOWS\system32. This is the boot screen file. Name it something like ntoskrnl.bak and save it somewhere you'll remember if you ever need to restore it. Extract the zipped boot screen you downloaded to a folder other than C:\WINDOWS\system32. Somewhere like C:\temp is a good choice.
Reboot your computer and enter Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key on your keyboard before the boot screen, or bootup in DOS from a bootup floppy. Overwrite your C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntoskrnl.exe file with the one you extracted from the downloaded boon screen then Reboot.
