Security professionals sometimes need to find out as much about a domain as they can without alerting the owner that someone is requesting all those information. Passive Recon is a Firefox extension that queries a multitude of public databases and lookups to reveal as many information as possible about a domain without interacting with it directly.
Well almost without interacting with it. One has to be on the domain to query all the databases which is a bit unfortunate. I would like to see a function to perform the lookups on links and on typed in domain names. The Firefox extension adds a right-click menu option called Passive Recon which opens another menu with a lot of possibilities.
More than 20 options are available with the option to query all databases at once. The queries are divided into groups, for example whois and domain lookups, Google queries and mx record lookups.

The extension is currently at the sandbox on the Mozilla website which means that you have to login to install it. An alternative is to install it directly from Justin's website.
