Volumes and partitions are the same, just different names.

TheMajor actually a basic (maybe also dynamic) volume means both partitions and logical drives inside extended partitions. logical drives are treated like partitions, but are not. I think with dynamic disks the word volume might have a different meaning, not sure though

USB is not bootable. Drivers have to be loaded before USB can work.
