If you receive the error:
“MMC cannot open the file C:\Windows\system32\dfrg.msc. This may be because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be because you do not have sufficient access rights to the file.â€
One fix to try is:
Go to Start > Run, type regsvr32 dfrgsnap.dll and then click OK. Then go to Run, type regsvr32 dfrgui.dll and then click OK - Now run Disk Defrag and if it still doens't work, if not proceed to the next step
Naviagte to C:\Windows\Inf and then right click dfrg.inf and select Install - Now Try to run Disk Defrag and if it still doens't work, proceed to the next step
