I used to use Auslogics BoostSpeed (4, i think) until i found better program(s).
Anyway, i was using the tweak manager included in boostspeed and set my windows vista home premium legal notice (to something about whales).
I later uninstalled it, forgetting to remove the legal notice that comes about before you log on.
So, i used System Restore so I could uninstall BoostSpeed properly.
When it was done, I couldnt start BoostSpeed because I kept getting an error.
So I rolled it back more. And still got errors.
Luckily, i found a way to erase the legal notice.
Go to Start > Run.
Type in regedit.
Then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
From there, locate 'Legal Notice Caption' and 'Legal Notice Text'.
Double click on those and backspace to remove your legal notice.
*This can also be used to set up your legal notice if you dont have one already:
If you dont see 'Legal Notice Caption' and 'Legal Notice Text', then right-click and go to new > string value.
Type in 'Legal Notice Caption' (without the quotes), and then do the same for 'Legal Notice Text'.
The rest should be easy.
*I use Windows Vista Home Premium, so im not sure if this works on XP.
