Hi guys,
First post.
My PS3 hasn't been reading discs recently, at first it was just games but now DVDs aren't being loaded either. What basically happens is the clock in the top right of the screen keeps spinning to show that something is loading.
What i've done is first, use a disc cleaner but to no avail. I then opened it up and cleaned the laser but still nothing happened. What I then did was take the disc drive out of my father-in-law's PS3 and put it into mine but again, the discs weren't loading.
I've always thought it was the laser but on changing the laser i.e. swapping drives it's still not worked.
I did then discover that apparently the disc drive needs to be married up with the rest of the PS3 but what does this mean? The PS3 still worked with the other drive inside and still sucked the CDs in and out.
Does anyone know what I can do next?
