ps2 harddrive

anyone know how i could put a harddrive in my ps2? maybe run linux or something on it? i know you can do this with xbox, but playstation is just so much better (plus i already have one). also is the $40 network adapter any better than the cheaper ones?

If you mean the USB adapter, it doesnt work with all online games. So if you want full functionality go with the Sony one.

tried to put a regular hard drive in using the network adapter plugins. the power supply/ide slots are a little farther apart on the adapter than the hdd so you have to force it a little. when turned on you can hear the hdd spin up but you cant access it. you guys do know you can just buy a linux kit for your ps2 that comes with hdd and linus os
