Didn't Sega have like a console that used CD's?

Not the Dream cast, but it came out after the Genesis.

unless im missing the point the genesis had a cd player built on the side (later editions anyway) i got 1 sat at home

The Genesis had a CD drive but it was barely ever used. The system after was the Sega Saturn.

The SNES had nothing to do with Sega. It was made by Nintendo.
