Tech question about an xbox

Now maybe ive just never noticed this before, but when I turn on my xbox and just let it sit on the interface screen eventually the whole screen goes dim. Now is it just going to sleep or some kind of power saver that is supposed to kick in when the system is idle, or what? Cuz when I move or press a button on the controller it brightens back up.

It saves power and saves from screen burn.

Yeah I guess you could relate it to a computer hibernating.. except the screen doesn't go black or anything.
edit: Okay guess it does save power

yeah, leave your computer on high brightness with an image of something for a while. you will find out why they dim it.

I wonder why they didn't put a screensaver on the 360. They could sell them like the themes or you could download your ow from your computer or somthin. That woulda been cool
