Microsoft Already Planning Xbox 3?
There is an interesting video interview with Chris Lewis, the man in charge of MicrosoftÂ’s Home Entertainment Division in Europe, at Kikizo today. What makes the interview so interesting is the comments he makes about already working on a next-next-gen Xbox.

Another brand new video interview feature on Kikizo today as Chris Lewis, high-profile boss of Xbox 360 and Home Entertainment in Europe (as well as Middle East and Africa, hence EMEA or "emmear"), sits down for a nice chat.

Well I'd think they'd have to start now to keep up with nex-gen stuff but they will still want to revise the 360 several times.

nah, they probably will revise. Usually happens when you work on the next gen. New design and iteration of the future platform will sometimes leak to the previous platform when a better design is found to minimize hardware failure, and thus improve profits.

Um, this has NOTHING to do with shortages, this has everything to do with optimizing the current console spec designs with something better. They did it with the PS. While working on the next generation they found a more optimal way of cooling, and they transfered that to the next incarnation of the PS. It made manufacturing cheaper, and since this design was in an effort for the next generation, and how to pack more into smaller places, they essentially got 2 packs for the price of one. The design team being payed for the next gen PS had what they found to be a better design configured to the current generations next incarnation. Also, if you're talking about the failure with the xbox360 when it first came out, they traced that to a certain stock made at a certain time. So, in summation I hope you are not like many who think that a new release should be problem free, because its a standard hardware and technology law. New technology comes with new growing pains. Fact of life, all the pre testing in the world is nothing compared to say the first 3 or 4 million consoles going through its paces. THAT is when the bugs really get worked out, and to be honest... the problem MS had with the first XBox360 shipment was fairly minor to some of the bigger disasters in console histories, some makers even getting to the point of NOT owning upto the problems and leaving their customers high and dry (Sony anyone?)
