UK Xbox 360 owners rejoice! Live TV is coming to your system via broadband and the Sky Player in the fall. TechRadar put together an FAQ for you so that you know what you need to do. No pricing details have been released yet.

Even if you cracked the region protection, you'd still need a Sky account which I don't think you can get in the US Though I suppose you could get one of us Brits to maintain an account for ya.

The capability to watch IPTV (that's what they're doing here) was added to all 360s a few updates ago. There just aren't any companies offering the service here in the US.
