But he'll leave stuff out for the eventual re-release direcotr's cut.

Hes producing. But halo is a trilogy, so halo will end. As the trailer says, "Finish the Fight". Theres only so much you can do with an idea. And Halo is on its way to be finished. Not saying that it wont go out with a bang though Just wait till 07 when Halo 3 will come out. Not to far away, and since it took about 3 years for each to come out, it makes sense.

Yah, Spartan. It's amazing that people are actually seriously discussing if this will be the last halo game. Give me a break... of course it won't.

sadly to say, this will be the last halo game. of coarse all the halo games kicka$$, but just becuase there will be no halo 4 doesnt mean that bungie wont make any more really good games. unless bungie/microsoft are really that greedy and thing halo fanboys will keep on buying halo after halo, then this WILL be the last one. mark my words, it will be the last of the halo series.
