Gamertag Change?

If you change your gamertag does everything come with you. ie. friends, gamerscore, etc.. ??? I know that it costs 800points to do it but I won't do it if my stats and friends and stuff don't change with me. Will my friends see that my name has changed and still be able to invite me to games and chat?

It all stays the same, i changed mine from Atlantis 360 (lol) to M4XYM4D, and everything was exactley the same.
