So my xbox got hit by lightning. Every part of it works except the NIC. I can still play games and get to the dashboard, but there are no lights flashing on the network port and the xbox tells me that there is no cable plugged in, even though there is. I called Microsoft and they want $80 + shipping to fix it, and they say it will take 6-8 weeks. So I decided to fix it myself.

Is this even possible? If so, where do I get parts? Can I just use a standard PCI type NIC?

Thanks

yeah thats the same conclusion I came to after many days of research as well. I had forgotten I posted this...

Yeah. That's about your only workaround solution... Unless you find some sort of USB Network Adapter that by a huge coincidence happens to work with an XBox 360... Don't think that's happening though.

na. I only have the cheap old xbox 1 for now. and I think the wireless adapter for that hooks up through the nic.
