Free Kicks in PES2008

Does anyone know how you correctly curl the ball in Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 during free kicks, i have been playing with my dad for hours now and neither of us have yet to score a free kick in PES2008, because the ball goes high to go over the 4 man wall and then we can't curl it back down into the goal !

Help please !

Press the up button when you take it. If this fails, try the down button. This is more low trajectory and it lets you get it over the wall but in the net.

Ive never really liked PES free kicks- my favurites were in FIFA WTWC 98.
