It is possible the 175 that worked had older internals from a older power brick, and that the one that didn't work, had correct internals...

Weird, maybe one was already slightly defective, I know that my 175W plug-modded brick easily runs any Xenon console I've hooked up to it (my old one and my friend's box), maybe I just got a good brick. My friend gave me the 175W from a new Falcon Arcade because the new plug design prevented him from using his Intercooler that had the old plug style, so he kept the 203W cause it fit. I didn't want to buy a new brick to test what I thought was a lost cause console, so I just hacked up the 175 until it fit the box. Luckily it all worked out and it runs fine.
