They can do a pretty good job of enforcing it on ebay, but private websites and such might be a little bit harder. Big MMORPG companies have deals with ebay to help stop the selling of their virtual property.
 
i agree that virtual property should not be sold for real money but im just curious why it would be illegal or Blizzard would stop it
 
I find the practice to be seriously disturbing. People, r u that obsessed with the game that your going to pay real money to fill up a box on your computer screen? Go outside!
 
What about that one guy who paid like $20K for ownership of an entire virtual island? I forget the name of the game, but it made headlines. That's just sick sick sick!
 
We should all pay for a virtual nuke for that virtual island and virtualy blow it to virtual smithereens, well virtualy anyway.

Virtual property, the very thought of it makes me laugh.
