why dont all my mouse buttons work?

hey guys i just purchased a new mouse/keybord
logitech mx 600 lazer mouse
and it wont let me program the extra mouse buttons work when im playing games (like halo). anyone have anydeas why?

Put the CD In and download all the necassary Software

lol did that already. all the buttons work while surfing the web,but it wont let me program them in the games.

what i can do in the software is set the extra mouse buttons " assign keystroke " and then i an able to program them in the game but then i lose there function when im surfing the web. i guess ijust cant have my cake and eat it too.

im not sure why you would use the extra buttons on the mouse for web surfing? thats what the keyboard is for. i myself have the logitech mx518. an it has 8 buttons on it all together. an i have the extra ones assigned to my games. so unless you assign. the same keys to both your games an your surfing. it wont work

Some games don't support those mouse buttons, what game are you trying to use? Here are some that I know for sure DO:

RTCW, WolfET, CoD2, HL2, Doom 3, Quake 4, etc.

Quake 3 does NOT and most games before Quake 3 didn't either.
