why do pc game get released later?

Hi there,
PC games are released later than console games because they run on a totally different operating system. They have to recreate the whole game for other operation system and then run a bug test.

The most modern engines have a real time port system (Cryengine for example) and can release at the same time. In this case they want to sell more console copies because that's where the money is at.
