Minecraft or any RPG game, particularly an MMO. The chances of finding rare minerals/gear/weapons will likely give you what you need.

Minecraft is a good substitute for gambling but if your into fps counter strike is a bit dated but still good and left fro dead 1 and 2 are a lot of fun especially online

Minecraft is great. Dragon Age 1 and 2, The Mass Effect games, Oblivion and Skyrim, Fallout 3 and New Vegas are all great RPG or FPS RPG. Counterstrike Source would be a great FPS to get into.

You might struggle to run a lot of newer games without a dedicated graphics card in your laptop. I think you should try a few demos to get an idea of what your lappy can handle before you start putting your money down. World of Warcraft has a free trial you can download off there website. Plus you can download the Mass Effect 2 demo free off Steam (google search it) and any other demos that take your fancy, if you can run mass effect 2 fine then your laptop should be good enough for most newish rpg style games.

Aswell as Counterstrike source you could try out Battlefield 2, I think a lot of people still play it online even though 3 has come out now, it should run fine on your system and again you can google search for the demo.
